The Musée de Montmartre is proud to announce the acquisition of new artworks! To mark the occasion, a lecture will take place on June 30, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. Follow the journey of a work of art from its creation to its inclusion in the collection through three presentations. This will provide a better understanding of the choices that, over time, have shaped our shared heritage around the Butte.

Max Maréchal will open the evening with a presentation dedicated to André Utter: painter and companion of Suzanne Valadon. A major figure in the Montmartre art scene, whose work, as well as his donation of fourteen pieces to the museum, deserves special attention.

Isabelle Conte will then present the 2025 acquisitions of the Société d’Histoire et d’Archéologie Le Vieux Montmartre, which include a significant collection of works by Bils and Steinlen.

Finally, Alice Legé will discuss the exceptional addition to the collections of a work by Maximilien Luce, acquired this year: an oil study on paper serving as a preparatory sketch for the painting A Street in Paris in May 1871.

After the lecture, the museum invites you to enjoy a drink in the gardens.
