The Mus\u00e9e de Montmartre specializes in exhibiting the works of artists who lived in the Montmartre neighborhood of Paris in the 19th and early 20th centuries, celebrating its bohemian culture. Located in the historic building where Suzanne Valadon, the first woman admitted to the Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 nationale des Beaux Arts in 1894, established her studio, the museum remains a vital cultural hub.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Since october 2025, we are excited to share with the public a special exhibition dedicated to Villa La Fleur. We are honored to present this remarkable Polish collection devoted to the Ecole de Paris for the first time in France, showcasing its vibrant artistic exchanges.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In 2026, the museum will continue to highlight the exceptional artistic richness of Montmartre.<\/p>\n

From March to September 2026, we will present the first exhibition in France devoted to Otto and Adya Van Rees, key figures of the European avant-garde who lived and worked at the Bateau-Lavoir alongside Picasso, Van Dongen, and Mondrian. This remarkable couple stands out as key figures of the European avant-garde, engaged in an artistic exploration that extended from Divisionism and Symbolism to Cloisonnism, Cubism, and Abstraction.<\/p>\n

From October 2026 to February 2027, the museum will celebrate the vibrant world of the circus, an inexhaustible source of inspiration for artists such as Toulouse-Lautrec, Picasso, L\u00e9ger, Chagall, Seurat, Degas, and many others whose works will be brought together for the occasion.<\/p>\n

The Chat Noir project<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

The current project: take part of the rebirth of the Chat Noir cabaret!<\/strong><\/p>\n

A big project coming! The Museum is planning to develop and change the Chat Noir gallery with a new installation design <\/strong>in order to bring back the Belle Epoque atmosphere<\/strong> and to rediscover the magic of its successful Shadow Theatre.<\/p>\n

Thanks to your help, this new setting will recreate the layout of the Shadow Theater in the cabaret and will allow us to put on a dynamic show using lighting, video and sound, in connection with the collection of zinc panels used as decor for the theatre and the paintings of Steinlen.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
